Malaysian Community of Bristol (MCB)

"Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company." The history of mankind has shown us that human beings do not live alone. Adam (A.S) had his beloved wife Hawa by his side. So began the journey of a small community. History has also shown us that, there are times we need to migrate or hijrah, be it in the quest for knowledge or for any other reasons. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) had taught us this. And we learn that it is never easy to start a community, even harder to keep it in harmony. We learn that because we sometimes experience the unexpected in the new community, we need each other even more so. A very small group of people from a beautiful, peaceful nation called Malaysia, living in the UK need each other to ease their lives in a foreign land. They remind each other of their root, culture and tradition. After all, one's own culture is what makes one unique. At times, they help each other to overcome "home-sickness". Along the way, they make new acquaintances, reconnect missing links. After all, we do not live alone! This is the essence of the website we have created for this community. We try to render help and assistance among friends. Sayyidina Ali (R.A) reminded us,"Unfortunate is he who cannot gain a few sincere friends during his life and more unfortunate is the one who has gained them and then lost them (through his deeds)." Let's hope that we are neither the former nor the latter. Our life is filled with sojourns - planned or unplanned. Our time in Bristol is yet another sojourn in our life. Remembering an advice from a great friend... "Let's make our sojourn in the various domains of life, beneficial to everyone..."
